We are seeking a Construction Superintendent for supervision of projects located in the greater Ottawa area. With a focus on Safety, The Site Super is responsible for the day-to-day management of the construction site, including, but not limited to the following:
- Ensure all workers are compliant with the Argue Construction Safety policy at all times
- Perform weekly tool box talks and safety inspections
- Maintain a daily job log of major activities, temperature, daily man-count, safety matters
- Coordinate, sequence and schedule subtrades throughout the project
- Enforce and maintain good construction standards and quality control
- Communicate with design team/client, as well as effectively lead the trades
- Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis, with Project Manager
- Develop and manage 2-week look ahead schedule to ensure trades are scheduled and sequenced accordingly
- Maintain CCO, RFI, Site Instructions and Shop drawing logs/binders
- Mark up drawings as required for “As Built” purposes
- Prepare and issue project deficiency lists to subtrades on a weekly/monthly basis
- Maintain tool inventory and provide weekly tool list to Project Manager
- Weekly subtrades meetings to coordinate work
- Schedule inspectors, architects, project engineers as required for all inspections
- Record all installations and construction with daily pictures
- Submit all paper work – invoices, packing slips, safety sheets – to head office on a weekly basis
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Engineering Technology, Journeymen Certificate or ICI Construction experience an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional customer service/client relation skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Must be flexible and a team player
- Blueprint reading and strong attention to Construction details
- Relevant Safety Certification
